The quality assurance (TQA) department documents the procedures and manuals with a view to the total quality management (TQM) and monitors the company’s processes through internal and external audits, and in case they come to any non-conformity, the relevant people in charge will take immediate corrective actions in order to eliminate them.
the quality assurance department, enjoying the support and backing of the top managers and leveraging its total management cadre shoulder to shoulder to all people responsible for the company processes (process owners) seeks to create assurance and enhance the satisfaction of all stakeholders, including the external and internal customers. It has set its attempts and efforts to contribute to the fulfillment of the goals of the company with a customer focus and customer care point of view relying on the realities of production.
 

  • الف- Some of the processes of the company that ensure the quality of products and services consist of:
    • Inspection and control of steel making raw materials by the chemistry laboratory of the company that has obtained "Certificate of Accreditation from Iranian Standard and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) in compliance with the standards of ISIRI-ISO-IEC 17025-2005, Laboratory Manual and procedures p-26 of the raw materials, slag and all tests that concern themselves to the chemistry laboratory
    • Control of water and oil by the water and oil laboratory of the company that has obtained "Certificate of Accreditation from Iranian Standard and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) in compliance with the requirements of ISIRI-ISO-IEC 17025-2005 standards, Laboratory Manual and procedures p-25, responsible for the quality control of the water consumed, corrosion of the water distribution systems, wastewater, industrial oil and grease control slag and all tests that concern themselves to the chemistry laboratory
    • Control of liquid steel analysis by the steel making plant laboratory that has obtained "Certificate of Accreditation from Iranian Standard and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) in compliance with the laboratory manual and procedures no P-46 in compliance with the requirements of ISIRI-ISO-IEC 17025-2005 standards, responsible for the controlling of the analysis of the liquid steel, slag, and input billets that enter the rolling area
    • Controlling of calibration by the electronics and instrumentation laboratory of the company that has obtained "Certificate of Accreditation from Iranian Standard and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) in compliance with laboratory quality management manual and procedures no P-45 in compliance with the requirements of ISIRI-ISO-IEC 17025-2005 standards, responsible for the control and calibration of all measuring devices of the production lines
    • Inspection and quality control of the products by the company's quality control department's product laboratory of the company that has obtained "Certificate of Accreditation from Iranian Standard and Industrial Research Institute (ISIRI) in compliance with laboratory quality management manual and procedures no P-23 in compliance with the requirements of ISIRI-ISO-IEC-17025-2005 standards, responsible for the quality control of the finished products of the company
    • Controlling the buildings and road construction by the soil mechanics laboratory of the company that has obtained from the Iranian standards and industrial research institute (ISIRI) on the basis of the laboratory quality management manual responsible for the controlling of soil, concrete and structure tests as well as building and road construction, asphalts performed in the process of expansion projects of the company in compliance with the requirements of ISIRI-ISO-IEC-17025-2005.
    • Pellets and sponge iron (DRI) quality control The quality of iron ore and the products of the direct reduction unit (sponge iron)  is constantly controlled and ensured.  
    • Gas quality control  The quality of the gases produced is controlled online in the direct reduction process using special analyzers. 
  • ب-Management Standards and systems
    • Obtaining the standard mark on the basis of all sorts of hot-rolled rebars used in concretes has taken place in compliance with the Iranian standard no. 3132 dated 29.Sep.2002.
    • The deployment of this standard has taken place in line with the goal of winning customer satisfaction in compliance with the requirements of ISO-9001-2008 international standards of quality management from DNV in 2004 after pertinent documentation, final audit, and giving training courses to the people. On the basis of the requirements of this standard, 8 principles of quality management was taken into account by the company.

    • The deployment of the international environment standard of ISO-14001-2004 was certified by DNV started in Oct. 2005 after the provision of general and professional training courses, documentation, and final audits. In compliance with these standards, environment aspects of the company's activities were identified and control actions were defined for them and the system is under control with carrying out periodical measurements
    • Highlights of the actions taken in compliance with the above standards:
      • Installation of the deduster system
      • Construction of the hygienic effluent treatment facilities
      • Construction of the hygienic wastewater treatment facilities
      • Creation of 125 hectares of greenery 60 hectares of which is drip-irrigated
    • Deployment of the aforesaid standard has taken place in line with the OHSAS-18001-2007 international standards of safety and health and occupational health as certified by DNV after giving general and specialized training, documentation, and final audit in Oct.2005. In compliance with the requirements of this standard, risks involving the safety and health of the people are identified and appropriate controlling plans are devised for each of them. Performing annual medical examinations and taking necessary measures afterwards plays an important role in ensuring the health of the people. This is done every Tuesday in the presence of the chief executive officer and other top managers of the organization. A VIP patrolling program is underway of the production and support units for this purpose that serves as a good backing and support for the adherence to and compliance with the requirements of these standards and 5S organizational orderliness standards.
    • Highlights of the actions taken in line with the above standards

      • Construction of buildings for the showers and lockers of the employees
      • Setting up a medical emergencies department equipped with ambulances
      It is noteworthy that the documentation of these three standards has been compiled within the framework of the integrated management system (IMS) And by deploying the business excellence model on the basis of the European Foundation for Quality Management Model (EFQM), and participation in the National Iranian Productivity Award, Khorasan Steel Company has created the right framework for the deployment of new management methods in order to identify its strengths and areas for improvement in line with the definition of improvement plans and executing them.
